UNC Asheville art professor Virginia Derryberry featured in University of Tennessee Exhibition; Reception set for September 12

Virginia Derryberry, painter and Art Department chair at UNC Asheville, is one of seven artists featured in an exhibit at the University of Tennessee’s Ewing Gallery. “Continuare: The Figurative Tradition in Contemporary Art,” presents regional artists’ depictions of the human form in diverse media. “Continuare” includes the work of Derryberry and six artists from Tennessee: Bain Butcher, Judith Condon, Thaddeus Erdahl, Lynda Evans, Carl Gombert and Denise Stewart-Sanabria.

A reception with the artists will be held 2-4 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 12, the exhibit’s final day. The Ewing Gallery is on the Knoxville campus of the University of Tennessee.  Gallery hours are 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 1-4 p.m. on Sunday.
