UNC Asheville Board of Trustees Elects Officers

The UNC Asheville Board of Trustees elected new officers during its July meeting. 
James R. Buckner, president and owner of the Atlanta-based IMPACT Educational Consulting Associates Inc. and a 1971 alumnus of UNC Asheville, was re-elected chair.
Nathan Ramsey, an Asheville attorney with Blanchard Newman & Blackwell, dairy farmer, and former Buncombe County Board of Commissioners chair, was elected vice chair. Ramsey is a 1989 alumnus.
Audrey Byrd Mosley, deputy general counsel for the National Academy of Sciences in Washington, D.C. and a 1974 alumna of UNC Asheville, was re-elected secretary. Officers serve a one-year term.
Joining the board as a new member for the 2010-2011 academic year is Courtney Galatioto, the UNC Asheville Student Government Association president.
The UNC Asheville Board of Trustees has 13 members; eight are appointed by the University of North Carolina Board of Governors and four are appointed by the governor. The UNC Asheville Student Government Association president, who is chosen by the student body in an annual election, is also a voting member of the board.
