UNC Asheville Offers Online Course for Lateral Entry Teachers

UNC Asheville and A-B Technical Community College will host an educational psychology distance learning online course designed for employed lateral entry teachers this spring. The course is designed for teachers who have their own classrooms and are seeking alternative licensing through the Regional Alternative Licensing Center.

“EDU 373: Educational Psychology” is a three-credit hour online course. Classes will be offered from June 4-July 2. The classes will be asynchronous; students can access the course information at any time that fits their schedule. The course will emphasize the applications of psychological research and theory to the learning processes and the teaching of diverse learners and students with special needs. Developmental, behavioral and cognitive psychological theories will be explored.  Cost for North Carolina residents is $267.30 plus a one-time non-refundable $20 application fee.
