UNC Asheville Hosts Evening with Noted Storyteller David Novak

UNC Asheville's Arts & Ideas Program will host an evening with noted storyteller David Novak at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 15, in UNC Asheville's Humanities Lecture Hall. Novak comes to storytelling with a background in theater arts, including Shakespeare, clowning, playwriting and directing. The event is free and open to the public.

Winner of the 2002 Circle of Excellence from the National Storytelling Network, Novak has regularly appeared at the National Storytelling Festival and has appeared in festivals and venues from Hawaii to Atlanta. He has also toured in New Zealand, Hong Kong and the Czech Republic. In 1995-96, Novak served as the master storyteller for the Disney Institute in Florida. An Asheville resident, Novak serves as the artistic director of A Telling Experience and adjunct instructor for the graduate program in storytelling at East Tennessee State University.
