Music Department Wraps Up Spring Concert Season with Gala Show

The UNC Asheville Music Department will wrap up the spring concert season with its annual Gala Concert at 4 p.m. Sunday, May 2, in UNC Asheville's Lipinsky Auditorium. The concert will include performances from various UNC Asheville musical ensembles, from a string quartet to a vocal jazz ensemble. Tickets are $5 at the door.

The Jazz Ensemble will perform works by Goodwin, as well as UNC Asheville student Kit Lyles. The String Quartet will perform pieces by Vivaldi and Glazunov, and the Percussion Ensemble will perform music by Varese and UNC Asheville student Carter Magee. The Chamber Singers will perform music by Durufle and Lauridsen, and vocal jazz ensemble Studio 18 will perform music by Paul Simon.
