UNC Asheville to Host Panel Discussion on Women in Health and Wellness Careers

UNC Asheville's Career Center will host a discussion on Women in Health and Wellness Careers at 4 p.m. Tuesday, March 23, in UNC Asheville's Highsmith University Union, Mountain Suites. The event is free and open to the public.

The talk will feature a range of local professional women discussing health and wellness career option. They will also describe their personal challenges related to issues of female leadership. The panel includes Melissa Byrd, executive director of physician operations at Park Ridge Hospital; Kristina Lewis, naturopathic physician with Lewis Family Natural Health; UNC Asheville alumna J. Nelson-Weaver, executive director of Health Partners; UNC Asheville alumna Laura Shaffer, senior administrative assistant and video conferencing and logistics coordinator at Mountain Area Health Education Center; and Kelley Wolfe, clinical sexologist at Mountain Sexology and lecturer in UNC Asheville's Health and Wellness Department.

Panel moderators are Kathie Garbe, chair and associate professor of UNC Asheville's Health and Wellness Department, and Wilma Sherrill, retired North Carolina General Assembly member.
