Blowers Gallery Hosts Exhibition by Asheville Artist Heather Lewis

"Box"

Selected drawings by Asheville artist Heather Lewis will be on view from April 2-28 in UNC Asheville's Blowers Gallery. The exhibition includes 12 works Lewis calls "drawings" created using various media such as brake grindings, roofing felt and DVDs, as well as natural phenomena such as light and gravity. The event is free and open to the public.

Lewis received a master's degree from the Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design at the University of Dundee, Scotland. Her work has been shown in galleries in the United States and abroad, including the Hunter College/Times Square Gallery in New York; the Ewing Gallery at the University of Tennessee; the Queen’s Road Gallery, in Aberdeen, Scotland; and the Threesome Gallery, in Oslo, Norway.

Blowers Gallery, located on the main floor of UNC Asheville's Ramsey Library, is open Monday-Thursday from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m., Fridays from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sundays from 1 p.m. to 11 p.m. For more information, call 828/251-6436.
