Conducted a follow-up
assessment of the effectiveness of the 2006 UNCA Family GIFT
(Getting Into Fitness Together) program, a 14-session physical
activity program for families with concerns about weight and
fitness. Adults and children expressed high satisfaction with the
program and felt that their personal goals had been met; 8 of 11
families reported making specific behavioral changes in diet or
exercise as a result of the program.

Residential Homes Resulting from Track-In From CCA-Treated Decks or
Porches
Investigated the
presence of arsenic in residential homes that have decks built with
chromated copper arsenate (CCA)-treated lumber, finding higher
concentrations of arsenic on floors in homes with CCA-treated
decks.
