The North Carolina Center for Health &
Wellness is currently focusing on the promotion of healthy living in three
groups: children, workers, and older adults. At the present time, we
are developing signature programs in each of these priority areas.
CURRENT PROGRAMS: Wellness Activities for Seniors (WASA)
Students in the Department of Health and Wellness Program's Community Outreach Course recently helped develop Wellness Activities for Seniors in Asheville (WASA). This
six-week program, conducted in partnership with the N.C. Center for Creative Retirement, provided intergenerational socialization, personal fitness, and health and medical education.
