Fall Orientation—especially for new members

Sunday, September 10, 1-3 pm in the Chestnut Ridge Room (102) will be your chance to learn more about programs and activities at the Reuter Center. You’ll gather with other members—both new and seasoned—learn ways to be involved, and become familiar with how things work at the Reuter Center. You’ll have a chance to sign up for Special Interest Groups (SIGs) and community outreach projects. There will be light refreshments.

Great Music—Free Concert

The faculty from the outstanding music department of nearby Western Carolina University will perform several free concerts at the Reuter Center this fall. The first of this Catamount Concert series will be on Wednesday, September 13, 7-8:30 in the Chestnut Ridge Room (102). This first concert of the series will feature Eldred Spell (flute) and Lillian Pearson (piano). Dr. Spell is a popular recitalist, clinician and flute maker. He offers a unique blend of personal warmth, musical expression and knowledge of historical styles. Dr. Pearson is both a soloist and chamber musician. Her interest in the authentic performance of early music has led her to study both the fortepiano and harpsichord, which she teaches in addition to the piano. They will not only play, but will also answer questions. Come and enjoy.
