Careful planning that balances the visionary and the practical is essential for creating the future you truly desire. That’s why the North Carolina Center for Creative Retirement, a program of the University of North Carolina Asheville (UNCA), offers its renowned workshop, Paths to Creative Retirement. Our program is based on six years of research and feedback from over 400 program “graduates.” Topics explored include how to evaluate whether to retire; prospects for post-retirement careers or other activities; understanding the psychological issues related to retirement decision-making, and how to assess emotional attitudes toward money, security, and the inclination to share a legacy. The highly interactive three-day workshop helps couples and individuals discover what they want and come up with strategies for getting there. Held on the UNCA campus in a beautiful mountain setting, “Paths” enables you to enjoy supportive collegiality with others while exploring your values, abilities and long-deferred dreams. In the process, you will gain invaluable insights and inspiration to help take you forward. “Paths” is a strictly non-commercial educational program focused mainly on the non-financial aspects of life’s second half. This informative program guides participants through a cycle of decision-making that reveals opportunities at each stage, helps transform anxieties about the next chapter of life into a learning process, and teaches participants to formulate an action plan. |
