The Habitat for Humanity Project
What was the project?
The local Habitat for Humanity received a truckload donation of new unsold
hardware including cabinet knobs, hinges, latches, screws etc etc. They waned to
sell this hardware in their Meadow Road Home Store to fund building low cost
homes, but they have been unable to sell it because it is all mixed together on
skids in their warehouse. Leadership Asheville Seniors 17 have developed and implemented a procedure to sort
it.

Group Project?
Class XVII embraced a challenge from Habitat management and developed a simple
low cost system to sort, store and stock the hardware. The class accumulated and
modified stock storage containers, modified the Habitat warehouse shelving and
sorted the hardware. The project was lots of work but also enjoyable - to
work together while helping others.
