COMMUNITY EDUCATION COMMITTEES

CSC Community Education Committee

Chair - Len Pardue

Community Education: Coordinates new and existing programs focused on community education for current and future audiences in close coordination with other committees (including Planning, CFS, Health and Wellness, Life Transitions, Community Outreach).

  • Recommends annual goals and objectives for community education programs.

  • Evaluates community education programs in accordance with NCCCR’s mission and vision.

  • Oversees curriculum and schedules for community education programs.

  • Recommends program fees to Finance Committee.

  • Recommends new areas of programming, new audiences, locations and collaborations.

  • Develops proposals for program innovations including special educational programs, tours, lectures, and collaborations with other groups involved with community education.

  • Recruits and trains volunteer leaders for various community education work groups.

  • Seeks connections with other NCCCR programs and activities.

  • Collaborates with Communications to publicize and market community education programs.

  • Committee members are actively involved in implementation of community education programs.


     

Community Education Subcommittees


To achieve the tasks set by the NCCCR Center Steering Council the Community Education committee has the following sub-committees and working groups: 

TBD ... but will include  Leadership Asheville Seniors (LAS), Leadership Training for Older Persons (LTOP), and Blue Ridge Naturalist (BRN) sub-committees

 

NOTE: This committee was created at the CSC meeting of September 6, 2005. Members this committee and its sub-committees have not yet been recruited (September 16). Anyone interested in joining this committee should contact Len Pardue eljeep@mindspring.com or Denise Snodgrass snodgrass@unca.edu
