Creative Retirement Exploration WeekendThis is the seventeenth successive year that the North Carolina Center for Creative Retirement has offered a unique learning vacation for those considering relocating in retirement--whether to western North Carolina or elsewhere:
Consider spending Memorial Day Weekend, May 22-24, 2009, in Asheville. The Retirement Weekend, usually attended by 150 people from more than 26 states, is a great opportunity to learn from others who are addressing similar issues.
Local
retirees, both long-time residents and newcomers, along with
representatives from area businesses and public officials will present
important information about the area to help you assess this region as
well as other locales. Program
includes ample opportunity to interact with area residents and to take
guided bus tours. Consider extending your stay for the pre-conference Weekend Warm-Up which will enrich your Retirement Weekend experience. Small group workshops and intensive discussions led by experienced facilitators provide an opportunity to explore the implications of transitions to retirement--whether you move or not! The Retirement Weekend runs from Friday evening through Sunday. The optional Weekend Warm-Up is held during the day on the Friday.
