The B.A. in music with an emphasis in Jazz Studies was established in 1994 for students wishing to pursue careers as jazz performers, composers and arrangers.

*Students may use these free electives to emphasize study in their principal areas of interest, e.g., composition, arranging, research, electronic music composition, film scoring etc.

All majors are required to pass Senior Comprehensive Examinations in Music Theory & Music History and perform a senior recital. Internships of up to 6 hours credit are available to qualified students.
A minimum of 120 credits is required for the Bachelor of Arts in Music (Jazz Studies).
