Bachelor of Science in Music Technology

 

The Music Technology program, leading to the B.S. degree, was established at UNCA in 1982. It is a small and highly selective program taught in UNCA's multi-track recording studio, MIDI production studio, etc.

 1.     All B.S. candidates are required to complete a senior recording or research project and pass Senior Comprehensive Examinations in Music Theory, Music History, Audio Engineering Technology and oral competency. Internships (up to 6 hours) are available (but not required) to qualified students.

It is the sole responsibility of the student to know and satisfy his or her degree requirements. When in question, consult the catalog published during the year you were accepted into the degree program at UNCA. Also refer to Department of Music guidelines for additional requirements. NOTE: Music majors pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree must complete a minimum of two semesters of ensembles recommended by the Director of the Music Technology Program and approved in writing by the department chair.
