Non-degree Seeking/Graduate Special
Important Information:
Persons with
a baccalaureate degree who wish to take graduate courses, but have no clear
intention of obtaining a degree, may be admitted to the University as a
Graduate Special (non-degree seeking)Student.
At the
discretion of the Program Director, graduate special students may take up to
six credit hours of graduate courses each semester for credit. Admission as
a graduate special student does not of itself constitute regular admission
to the MLA Program. Financial Aid is not available to non-degree
seeking students.
If a student
taking courses as a Graduate Special wishes to apply for matriculation as a
Degree-Seeking student, they
must submit an application for admission into the MLA program as outlined for
Degree-Seeking candidates.
If accepted into the MLA program, successfully completed MLA courses taken as a Graduate Special
may be applied to completion of the MLA degree at the discretion of the
Graduate Council. For further information, please call the MLA Program
office at (828) 250-2399.
