The Western Carolina Chapter, NC Association of CPAs (WCNCACPA)
Scholarship

Why This Scholarship was Established:
The Western Carolina Chapter of the North Carolina Association of
Certified Public Accountants (WCNCACPA) Scholarship was established
in January 2004 under the direction of Mr. Edward Fidelman, CP/ABV,
President of WCNCACPA, for the explicit purpose of supporting a UNCA
student majoring in Accounting.
The NCACPA Foundation has, for many years, made merit based
scholarship awards. These awards are made on a statewide basis.
The Western Carolina Chapter wished to establish its own scholarship
program with a focus on the Universities in our part of the state
and for students whose home bases are in our Chapter area. The
Chapter also wished to have a scholarship program that is both need
and merit based, and with the selection process operating right at
the local level. We take great pride in helping to facilitate the
education of future accounting professionals in Western North
Carolina.
The first award of this scholarship was in May of 2004 for the
2005-06 academic year.
