Why this scholarship was established
The UNCA Accountancy Association established the Claudel
Brooks McKenzie Honorary Scholarship. This scholarship was
established to encourage leadership, integrity, and service
among accounting students.
Criteria for award
Applications and/or faculty recommendations are submitted to
the UNCA Accountancy Association after February 28 and
before April 1. Selection is based upon the following
criteria:

Demonstrate leadership, integrity, and service

Pursue
either a degree or certification in Accounting
-
Enroll
as a member in the Accountancy Association by the third
week of February
-
Complete (or enrolled in) Accounting 315-Intermediate
Accounting
-
Currently carry a minimum of 6 credit hours per semester
-
Show
promise for a career in the field of Accounting
Selection Process
A selection committee will determine the number of awards to
be made and the scholarship recipient. As established in the
endowment, this committee will include previous McKenzie
Scholarship recipients and two alumni members. The
committee's term will be from February 1 through the
Accountancy Association Banquet date.
Award Announcement
The award will be announced and presented at the annual
Accountancy Banquet held at the end of each academic year.
