Accounting:
The Department of
Management and Accountancy at the University of North Carolina
at Asheville (UNC Asheville) invites applications for two tenure
track positions in Accounting to begin Fall 2009. Candidate
should be current in knowledge of GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley, and
related professional and governmental developments. Teaching
requirements include Intermediate and Advanced Accounting, or
Systems and Auditing. Desirable background would include an
interdisciplinary perspective. The successful candidate should
be a self-starter who enjoys teaching and will be involved in
student advising, student internships, and student research
projects. Committee and institutional assignments, community
service, and publications in area of expertise or in pedagogy
are required.
Doctorate in Accounting
required. Candidates must demonstrate excellent teaching skills
and an ability to perform research commensurate with maintaining
currency in the discipline in an undergraduate environment.
ABDs close to completion date will be considered. Rank and
salary (competitive for a baccalaureate institution) will be
determined by degree and level of teaching experience. The
standard faculty workload is an equivalent of 12 hours per
semester.
The Department of
Management and Accountancy includes programs in Management,
Business Administration, Marketing, Industrial and Engineering
Management and Accounting. Many of the full-time Departmental
faculty teach in interdisciplinary courses across the University
campus. The Department’s undergraduate degree programs in
business are accredited by AACSB International.

Resources Management

track position in Human Resources Management, to begin Fall
2009. A doctorate in Human Resource Management, Organizational
Behavior, or Industrial/Organizational Psychology preferred. A
candidate with a terminal degree in a management discipline and
experience in human resource management will also be considered,
as would an ABD close to completion date. Completed doctorate
or ABD status by Fall 2009 required. The candidate should be
able to teach a variety of courses, including but not limited
to, Human Resource Management, Organizational Behavior, and
Principles of Management. An interest in teaching research
methods would be helpful. Candidates must demonstrate excellent
teaching skills and an ability to perform research commensurate
with maintaining currency in the discipline in an undergraduate
environment. A research stream in the area of Human Resource
Management is strongly preferred: however, candidates with
research focusing on Organizational Behavior, Organizational
Development, and/or Organizational Theory, will also be
