Beta Gamma Sigma
(BGS) Scholarship
2008-2009 Award
Recipient

Joshua
Scott Capps (Accounting – Financial)
Why this Scholarship was Established
The
University of North Carolina at Asheville’s chapter of Beta Gamma
Sigma (BGS) was established in December 2004. BGS is the most
selective business honor society in the world, with membership
granted only to the top 10% of graduating seniors and the top 10% of
second semester juniors in AACSB accredited business institutions.
Each
year, the UNC Asheville chapter will offer a $500.00 scholarship to
a deserving student. BGS will provide a $500.00 matching
contribution (total scholarship of $1000.00), so long as the UNC-Asheville
chapter achieved an 85% or greater membership acceptance rate in the
previous year.

Any
current BGS member, or any student who is invited to become a member
during the annual Spring Induction Ceremony, is eligible. Selection

- Scholarship must be
used during the student’s senior year of study
