Department Resources

Dept. of Literature and Language Student Handbook:
The following information from the Student Handbook has been compiled in order to make your study at The University of North Carolina at Asheville as efficient and rewarding as possible. Reading it carefully and familiarizing yourself with all its parts should provide you with a solid understanding of what will be required and expected of you as a major in the Department of Literature and Language. It should help you to plan your major with fewer chances of error or misunderstanding. During the years you are a part of the Department, keep the handbook and use it frequently as a reference tool. But don't let it become a substitute for your advisor. Personal contact is still the best way to clarify problems and to obtain advice and help that cannot be anticipated by this type of handbook. Finally, let me encourage you to provide suggestions either to myself or to your advisor on how the handbook can be improved and made more useful to you. We hope that it will serve your needs. If it doesn't, let us know. In the meantime, let me wish you the very best in your study at UNCA.
