Personal statement: This is my tenth year at UNCA. Although relocating to Asheville should have been a shock to my system (after 12 years of living in Manhattan), I'm enjoying the calm pace and beautiful surroundings. I’ve been the recipient of writer-in-residency fellowships from Virginia Center for the Creative Arts, Cottages at Hedgebrook, Yaddo, Fundación Valparaiso, The Ragdale Foundation, and Blue Mountain Center. At UNCA, I’m the faculty advisor for the literary arts magazine, Headwaters. Also, I’m the founder and organizer of the F-Word Film Festival (A Celebration of Images By and About Women but For All Audiences). This year will mark its 9th anniversary. |
