Michael Gillum
Personal statement:
I love working in the Department of Literature at UNCA because it is full of smart, funny, good people.  I enjoy teaching a wide range of courses including all four Humanities courses, all three surveys of Western literature for the department, The Art of Poetry, and special topics in seventeenth century and modern literature. My scholarly publications have been in the areas of modernist poetry, metrics, and nature writing.  I recently edited, with Dot Sulock, the anthology of readings for Humanities 414.  We are the coordinators of that course.  Currently I am spending a good deal of time working on UNCA's institutional self-study project. Off-campus, I enjoy fly fishing, rose gardening, and movies.
