Position TITLE: TRIP PLANNING SUPERVISOR
Starting Pay Rate: $6.50
Position Description: Part-time (No more than 10 hours per week) with responsibilities in assisting the Assisting with Trip Planning and Trip Staff Supervision.
General Responsibilities:

Enforces Rules and Regulations of UNCA OUTDOORS among Desk Staff and Trip Leaders.

Assist with teaching other trip staff the proper way to organize and plan for scheduled trips.

Disperse information regarding UNCA adventure trips with all UNCA Outdoors staff.

Communicate well in advance to Equipment Supervisor all needed supplies for trips and clinics.

Generates statistics regarding trip participation, and reports those statistics to the Assistant Director.

Very generally ensure that all aspects of the tripping program runs smoothly, and that trip leaders are provided with the necessary resources to offer quality trips.
Specific Responsibilities
Weekly
-
Make sure vans are picked up from motor pool, and returned in the proper manor.
- Ensure that all trip forms are completed and turned into the program coordinator prior to their due dates.
- Ensure that all trip leaders are held responsible for following the trip planning timeline, and that all necessary due dates are completed when scheduled.
- Assist the Trip Leaders with anything they may need for their Trip
- Schedule and reserve all facilities necessary for Pre-trip meetings, and ensure the trip leaders have a well-planned and organized outline of information for the meeting.
- Meet bi-weekly with Assistant Director and keep them updated of all trip related happenings.
- Ensure that all trips have at least the minimum number of participants, keeping head trip leader informed of sign up progress, and assist trip leaders in recruiting more participants when necessary.
Monthly

Complete the Supervisor Report.

Attend Program Supervisors Meeting, and be prepared to share contents of Supervisors Report.

Condense monthly trip statistics (number and gender of participants, etc. etc.) and enter them into a spreadsheet, and Report to Assistant Director via Monthly Report.

Make additions where necessary to the Trip Leader Manual, to ensure that all policies and procedures are kept up to date.
Semester
-
Organize and Schedule at least one Trip Staff Social Gathering During the Semester

Prepare trip folders for sign-up

Schedule vans for the following semester trips.

Hold training with first year staff to discuss the trip planning timeline and to ensure that all trip staff understands the importance of following this timeline.
Yearly
- Advise Assistant Director of any new equipment or resources that are needed for the tripping program.
- Establish clear and measurable goals for the Tripping Program.
- Evaluate the accomplishment of Tripping Program Yearly
Goals.
