Position TITLE: STUDENT BIKE SHOP SUPERVISOR

Starting Pay Rate:
$6.50

Position Description: Part-time (10 hours per week) with responsibilities in assisting the Assistant Director with care, operation, and maintenance of the UNCA Outdoors Cycle Shop.


General Responsibilities:
  • Enforces Rules and Regulations of the ORC among Desk Staff and Bike Shop workers, and ensures the shop is kept neat and orderly at all times.
  • Teach other shop employees the proper maintenance techniques and schedule training for new staff and old staff.
  • Disperse information regarding the Cycle shop with all UNCA Outdoors staff.
  • Keeps inventory of all shop tools and supplies.
  • Stocking of all necessary supplies (i.e. lube, patch kits, cables, etc.).
  • Generates statistics of bike shop use, and reports those statistics to the Assistant Director.
  • Creates and Implements a comprehensive marketing plan for the bike shop, to included special events.
  • Scheduling Cycle Shop staff meetings.


Specific Responsibilities

Weekly
  • Ensure that inventory of shop tools and equipment is taken, and that all needed supplies are stocked and on hand.
  • Enforcement of all Cycle Shop Policies and Procedures, and ensure that all Bike Maintenance Policies are followed closely.
  • Ensure that all weekly tasks are completed by Cycle Shop employees, and monitor the upkeep and cleanliness of the shop itself.
  • Keep up with weekly income of the Cycle Shop and ensure that all monies are deposited daily with the Office Assistants.
  • Scheduling and staffing of the bike shop.
Monthly
  • Complete the Monthly Supervisor Report.
  • Attend Program Supervisors Meeting, and be prepared to share contents of Supervisors Report.
  • Make additions where necessary to the Cycle Shop Employee Manual, to ensure that all policies and procedures are kept up to date.
  • Organize and see that at least one special event to help publicize the Cycle shop and its services is run at once every two months.
  • Schedule and be prepared to run one Cycle Shop staff meeting/training.
  • Attend UNCA Outdoors Staff meeting to share information regarding the Cycle Shop with Office and Trip Staffs.
Semester
  • Create and implement a Marketing Plan for the Cycle shop.
  • Organize at least one social gathering for the cycle shop.
  • Hold new staff orientation training.
  • Assistant Director with Scheduling and marketing of workshops or clinics that utilize the bike shop, and assign staff as needed for these events.
  • Work with UNCA Cycling to ensure adequate support is offered for all aspects of their operations.
  • Ensure that all staff are aware of and understand the contents of the UNCA Cycle Shop Staff Handbook.
Yearly
  • Advise Assistant Director of any New tools or resources that are needed in the Cycle Shop.
  • Establish clear and measurable goals for the Cycle Shop.
  • Evaluate the accomplishment of Cycle Shop Yearly goals.
