Alternate Spring Break Trip to New Orleans
Fifty UNCA community members (one faculty member, two staff members, our fulltime AmeriCorps member, and forty-six undergraduates) traveled to New Orleans Sunday March 4 and returned the following Sunday, March 11. They stayed at Camp Hope, a renovated school in St. Bernard Parish, and worked every day at Musician's Village, the main site for Habitat new construction in the upper 9th ward.
There were about 650 volunteers with Habitat that week staying at Camp Hope; the UNC Asheville team was the largest.
