Key Center-sponsored trip to the 13th annual
Hands On Atlanta Martin Luther King, Jr. Service Summit

Seven Students and two faculty members--Tarik Glenn, Dana Henry, Daniel Ness, Jen Smith, Katie Rozicki, Lauren Fox, Sarah Hancock, Cathy Whitlock and Merritt Moseley--traveled to Atlanta on January 14 to attend the Martin Luther King, Jr., Service Summit. Sunday was spent at and near the historic section of Atlanta associated with the King Family, including a service at the (new) Ebenezer Baptist Church and visits to the Visitors Center, the King Center for Nonviolent Social Change, Dr. King's tomb, and the historic Ebenezer Baptist Church. Monday we turned our hands to the project arranged through Hands On Atlanta, helping to clear the Sylvester Cemetery, a 160-year-old graveyard, long neglected in East Atlanta.

We were the guests of the First United Methodist Church in Decatur and enjoyed meals at Maddy's Ribs and Blues and at the Queen of Sheba Ethiopian restaurant.
