Welcome to the Institutional Review Board's web site.  The purpose of this site is to enhance communication between the Board and the campus community while facilitating access to regulations, policies, procedures, and forms related to human subjects research.
 

Our Mission

The UNCA Institutional Review Board (IRB) is responsible for reviewing proposals for all research conducted by members of the UNCA community that involve human subjects.  This requirement includes research and focus groups as well as experiments; research by students as well as faculty and staff, and research taking place off campus as well as on the UNCA campus.  This requirement is mandated by federal regulation.  It is the responsibility of the IRB to ensure that all research affiliated with UNCA is safe for human subjects.
