The Mountains to the World initiative is designed to support additional curricular and extra-curricular opportunities for international education both on the UNCA campus and abroad.  In particular, the initiative seeks to provide the funding and support necessary to launch an international service learning program that complements and completes UNCA’s already strong tradition of service learning.   Ordinarily grants will range  between $750--$1200 (depending upon duration and cost of program) and be available to UNCA students who undertake substantial service learning projects outside the United States lasting, typically, from two weeks up to one semester.
