Student Information

The Integrative Liberal Studies Program was first implemented in the fall of 2004. All entering freshmen participate in the ILS Program at UNCA.

Students who transfer into UNCA having completed the "44 hour general education core" at a North Carolina community college should consult the appropriate link at bottom to learn more about the courses they need to take to complete the ILS Program.

Students who are enrolled at the University of North Carolina at Asheville prior to fall 2004 are not required to complete the Integrative Liberal Studies Program. The General Education requirements as listed in their catalog may be followed, provided they maintain continuous enrollment until degree completion.

Students readmitted to the university after an absence of more than a year are required to complete the Integrative Liberal Studies Program.
