Many UNCA faculty
participate in the Integrative Liberal Studies Program by creating Liberal
Studies Introductory Colloquia for freshmen (LSIC 179) or for transfer
students (LSIC 379). There are Colloquia offered in every academic discipline.
While teaching about an academic subject, colloquium faculty also introduce
students to the practice and discipline of learning at the university
level. Faculty may employ a student mentor in their colloquium to help
wioth organizing discussions and co-curricular activities.
