UNCA's Core Curriculum The Integrative Liberal Studies Program emphasizes the integration and synthesis of knowledge across traditional disciplinary boundaries. The program was implemented in Fall 2004 and was the recipient of the 2007 Association of General and Liberal Studies Award for Improving General Education. ILS invites students to deepen their understanding of complex contemporary issues through interdisciplinary topics and courses.
