The Retreat:

The Humanities and Arts 310 Programs invite you to a faculty development retreat at Wildacres in Little Switzerland the weekend of September 8-9, 2006.

Schedule - Click for complete schedule of presentations.

Focus:

Pedagogical approaches to architecture, art, music, and dance.

What does "participation" mean?  Each attendee will present a pedagogical unit to help the rest of us teach a specific art object, architectural site, music, or dance which is presently in the Humanities or Arts 310 curriculum.  Approaches to a genre, to regional diversity, to ethnic diversity, to film, to a general aesthetic notion, etc. are welcome as well.  This is not meant as an exercise for art and music experts only, even though, of course, we like to hear from the experts.  The units can range from a fifteen minute encounter to a class-length project.  Because we all teach this material, the goal is to help each other teach it more effectively.
