NC-ASAP  is a voluntary benefits service offered to the public employees of North Carolina in partnership with the Department of State Treasurer. Employees earn rebates from everyday shopping that will be deposited into the savings account of their choice.  

Overview:

• Service offered at no cost to the employee, the employer, or the State

• Supports new and existing savings accounts

• Funded by merchant rebates on everyday shopping

• No actions required by employer after they distribute information

• North Carolina is the first state to offer this service to its public employees

NC-ASAP Mechanics:

• Employees earn rebates from shopping with NC-ASAP merchants that are distributed into their savings accounts

• NC-ASAP charges merchants administrative fees to participate

• Employees enroll online or by calling the toll-free phone number 1-877-ASAP BUCKS (877-272-7282), Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

• Employee provides contact information, lists favorite credit and debit cards to track purchases, and designates savings benefit

• Nor credit or debit card expiration dates, security codes or PINs needed

• Employee information obtained by the service can not be sold or used by a third party

This is a multi-option "529" college savings plan that offers a wide new range of investment options to save for college. Contributions are normally made through payroll deduction and are managed by separate investment managers.

The savings options offer a wide variety of investments to meet most any investment goals and risk tolerance. Earnings are free from federal and state taxes as long as the funds are used to pay for qualified educational expenses. More information is available at: http://www.cfnc.org
