The Highsmith Art Gallery is located in the Highsmith University Union (HU) on the campus of UNC Asheville. The Highsmith Art Gallery functions as an art exhibition space as well as a teaching venue and features co-curricular programs, multimedia displays and gallery talks in its schedule. UNC Asheville classes in nearly all disciplines utilize the exhibitions and related activities as teaching tools. The Highsmith Art Gallery also draws many visitors from the Asheville area. Normal gallery hours during the academic year (when fall and spring classes are in session) are Monday through Friday, 9am-9pm, and Saturday and Sunday, 9am-6pm. Summer hours are Monday through Friday, 10am-5pm, when summer classes are in session. Hours may be subject to change. Call 828.232.5000 for more information.
