The Highsmith Art Gallery is located in the Highsmith University Union on the University of North Carolina Asheville campus. The gallery functions as an art exhibition space as well as a teaching venue and features co-curricular programs, multimedia displays and gallery talks. All exhibits and talks are free and open to the public.
 

Gallery Hours:
Monday through Friday 9:00 am-9:00 pm
Saturdays and Sundays: 9:00 am - 6:00 pm
When fall and spring classes are in session.

Gallery Summer Hours beginning May 8th:
Monday through Friday: 8:00 am-5:00 pm
Closed on weekends.

On your way to the Highsmith Gallery, take time to view the masterful large-scale reproduction of Raphael’s famous School of Athens located in the Highsmith Commons.

UNC Asheville Art professor, S. Tucker Cooke, directed the project. The more than 80 panels were painted by many students, faculty and community members. The piece is over 1200 sq. ft. in size.
