GERTF Design Team
Meeting, 29 January 2003
Red Oak Room
1. Reorganization—Dr Katz meet with VCAA Dr. Padilla to discuss current developments regarding the proposed administrative reorganization. They also discussed the progress on the design of the new curriculum. Dr Padilla agreed that it would be ideal to have a model before the faculty as soon as possible. He thought that we could aim for a Faculty Forum before the Break, if the model were ready, and then have a follow-up meeting after the holiday.
2. Presentation to the Senate—Dr Katz reviewed the issues he was going to cover in his Spring semester report to the Faculty senate.
3. Discussion of Models—Each group had been assigned to bring in models of a program as a way to start discussion. The Ruiz/McKnight and Katz/Konz teams presented their models last week. The Nelms/Hardy/Spencer and White-Carter/Krumpe teams presented at this meeting. The design team discussed points of contact and divergence, listing them for future discussion. Katz will send out a revised list of convergences and divergences tomorrow. We will discuss the points of difference over the next meetings, in an effort to shape a consensus for the revised program architecture.
