Inside Overlook Hall
Take a 70-second tour of UNC Asheville's newest residence hall
Transcript: "My name is Carleigh Zeman. I'm a Junior, and this is my third year living on campus. This is my first year as an R.A., and I'm excited to be living in the new residence hall. You look around [Overlook Hall], and you can see that it's a residence hall designed by students, for students.
"The lounge space—there's so much community space for studying and hanging out. There are three kitchens throughout the building. There are two laundry floors, so you're never more than one floor away from doing the laundry. In the single rooms, we found that many upperclassmen prefer to have their own rooms. That's something we've added on campus.
"You look around the building and it's really a place to live. It's not a bed, a bathroom, a bed and another bed, and another bathroom and another bed. You look around and see the kitchens, the bright and colorful hallways, and the open spaces and the common areas—you really feel like you're in a place where you can live."
