Because we wanted to learn more about the specific places that individuals value in our study area, we held a community mapping project session in each of our study counties. Participants were asked to use Google Earth to identify specific locations that they felt were important for our region’s scenic and cultural heritage resources. Thirty three individuals located, described and rated the importance of 234 places they identified.
