  YEAR 1: Estimate Benefits & Build GIS Database
To gather our benefit data we will use both a survey of residents & visitors to the region, as well as in-depth focus groups and interviews with farmers and residents.

YEAR 2: Data Analysis & Visual Communication of Results
We will use our data to assess the spatial distribution of benefits across the landscape, compare benefits with preservation costs under existing programs, and derive a priority ranking for the preservation of different farmland tracts in the study region.

  YEAR 3: Education & Outreach
Outreach and education efforts will include workshops for extension and state agriculture department staff, policy makers, and citizens, as well as a website and printed materials.
