“I chose UNC Asheville for the recording arts curriculum, but designed my own degree combining music performance and theory with marketing and accounting. My business courses prepared me well for everything from consulting and marketing to budgeting and contract negotiation, even in the corporate suites of New York’s fashion industry. Now that I’ve started several creative businesses with my husband, everything I learned here, coupled with my experience in the business world, is helping me to build on my first love, music. I can honestly say UNC Asheville helped to shape me both personally and professionally.”

Favorite memory: “It was a huge gift to study under Robert Moog, a larger-than-life legend. He changed my way of thinking to see the possibilities in music, as well as in business, and in life. I still draw on that experience in my work today.”
