Sarahbeth Larrimore ’04

Even as early as age 12, alumna Sarahbeth Larrimore (Class of 2004) was designing and playing with fabric. But she decided early on to shun the traditional fashion academy education. “Design school would have been too narrowly focused and too expensive,” said Larrimore. Instead, she pursued an interdisciplinary studies degree at UNC Asheville centered on art, theater, philosophy and political science.

It turned out to be a good move. Since she graduated, Larrimore has founded Unabashed Apparel, an up-and-coming clothing line with an emphasis on environmentally sustainable fashions. She was also named among the “30 Under 30” women to watch by Verve Magazine.
