UNCA Student Teachers web account
using Microsoft FrontPage.

OVERVIEW:

  1. Use Internet Explorer (IE) to open Student Teachers webpage.
  2. Using IE, launch (run) FrontPage to open Student Teachers website.
  3. Using FrontPage, import WebQuest template (two html pages) into the Student Teachers website.
  4. Using FrontPage, open WebQuest pages for editing.

LENGTH OF LESSON:

Self paced.

OBJECTIVES:

Learner will:

  1. Access user account using Microsoft FrontPage (and Microsoft Internet Explorer).
  2. Login to user account.
  3. Import WebQuest template (two html pages) into the Student Teachers website.
  4. Open WebQuest pages for editing.

INSTRUCTIONAL PLAN:

Access user account using Microsoft FrontPage (and Microsoft Internet Explorer).

  • Open Microsoft Internet Explorer


     

  • The following window appears:

  • Enter the URL http://students.unca.edu/username in Address

Note: 

Username means to enter YOUR USERNAME.

The following addresses are currently the same location on the web.

http://www.unca.edu/~username
http://students.unca.edu/username

  • A web page should appear.

  • Select File | Edit with Microsoft FrontPage

Login to user account.

(This process will not work without a valid User Name and Password.)

  • The following window appears:

  • Enter User Name in the form of underdognet\username

  • Enter Password

  • Select OK button

  • Finished requirements:

    Access user account using Microsoft FrontPage.

    Login to user account.

Import WebQuest template.

  • If any files are visible in the edit window, close each edit window.

  • Select File then select double down arrows (marked with blue arrow)

  • Select File | Import

  • The following window appears:

  • The following window appears:

  • Uncheck Limit to check boxes

  • Select Next> button

  • The following window appears:

  • Select Finish button

  • If the following window appears:

  • Then select Yes button

  • If the following window appears:

  • Then select Yes to All button

  • The following window appears:

  • Two files will appear at the bottom of the folder list in the root directory:
     

    • webquest.htm

    • t-webquest.htm
       

  • Finished requirement:

Import WebQuest template.

Open WebQuest pages for editing.

  • Double click on the icon associated with the webquest.htm file in the folder list to open for editing in the FrontPage edit window.
     

  • Double click on the icon associated with the t-webquest.htm file in the folder list to open for editing in the FrontPage edit window.
     

  • Finished requirement:

Open WebQuest pages for editing.
