Theme or problem: The theme would be a little different from the Unit name. It might be almost anything. You would want the theme to match well with the unit of study and the standard course of study for the unit. Instead of a theme, you might choose a problem for students to investigate. This could be a real-world problem that relates to the unit of study. The problem could be something simple or it could be quite complex, such as environmental pollution, crime, racism, and social justice. The theme or problem should be interesting to your students so they will get hooked on the learning activities.
