This is yet another page of resources for educators. These are
great sites in various subjects that teachers can use in developing lesson
plans. These are not lesson plans, but sites for students to go to
find information on specific topics.
MarcoPolo
The MarcoPolo program provides no-cost, standards-based Internet content
for the K-12 teacher and classroom, developed by the nation's content experts.
Online resources include panel-reviewed links to top sites in many disciplines,
professionally developed lesson plans, classroom activities, materials
to help with daily classroom planning, and powerful search engines.
NC Wise Owl
This site was developed for teachers and parents in North Carolina.
It has many resources. This is another must see web site for educators!
Edsitement
This web site is sponsored by the National Endowment for the Humanities
and is part of the MarcoPolo project. It has many great resources
by grade level, similar to the MarcoPolo site.
Merlot
Multimedia Educational Resource for Learning and Online Teaching.
This site has a huge collection of educational materials that can be used
by teachers. These products are divided into subject areas and a
search engine is available. Excellent site for materials to use directly
in the classroom.
The Big 6 Skills
This site helps educators to develop problem-based learning activities
that integrate both technology skills and information skills. An
excellent site.
Impact
Guidelines for media and technology. This site is from the NC
WiseOwl web site created by NC Dept. of Public Instruction. These
are the guidelines for integrating information skills and technology skills
into the regular classroom activities.
NCREL's edGauge
A site that has information on the 21st century skills needed for digital
literacies for a digital age. Information about these skills and how
problem-based, inquiry-based, and project-based learning are valuable strategies
to use with a technology enriched learning environment. Also information
on the need for new assessment approaches for these strategies and more.
The WebQuest
Page
This is the official WebQuest site with links to information about
a WebQuest and many examples of WebQuests in various subject and grade
levels.
Learning to Learn
This site has many resources, modules, and tools for classroom teachers
who are interested in designing learning for diverse learners with different
learning styles and learning characteristics.
CyberGuides
A cyberguide is a supplementary, web-delivered unit of instruction
centered on core works of literature. This site provides several
examples of using cyberguides in various grade levels.
NC Live
This is a great site to find NC libraries online and many NC online
resources, such as full-text articles and newspapers.
Learn NC
LEARN North Carolina is a statewide network of educators dedicated
to improving K-12 education in North Carolina, using the Internet to promote
collaboration within the education community. An excellent site for
resources, standard course of study, lesson plans, collaborative efforts,
and more.
Teacher Vision
Great stuff! Lesson planning, online tools such as Math worksheets
and online gradesheets, many great web sites, links to national standards,
and much more.
Info Please
Great web site with information behind the news. It has links
for students to use to find a great deal of information on current and
historical topics. This site has links to an almanac, atlas, dictionary,
and encyclopedia.

Great web site with links to educational resources by subject or lifestage.
You will find a tremendous number of sites for the age level you teach. Check this one out!
AskERIC Lesson Plans
Over 1100 lesson plans submitted to AskERIC. You can browse or
enter search words to find lesson plans.
Online Maps and
Atlases
Site with several links that would be very useful in Social Studies/History
teaching. Students can find information on geography, statistics,
and many facts about states and countries.
Online Dictionaries,
Thesauri, and Encyclopedias
Site with several links to these valuable online resources.
Education Resource Organizations
Directory
This is a site of the US Department of Education with links to many
federal sources for educators. If you click on the site map, you
will get a good idea of all the links available. More than 400 education
libraries & curriculum materials centers have been added to the Education
Resource Organizations Directory (EROD). EROD is an online database
you can use to identify libraries, assistance centers, & other organizations
in your state that offer help on education challenges.

This looks like a great site to find really good web sites for teaching
and learning. You get web-based projects, tutorials, references,

NC DPI
This is the home page for the NC Department of Public Instruction.
Teachers Connect
This site is maintained by the NC Dept. of Public Instruction.
It has links to professional resources, web resources, connected classrooms,
sprecial programs, and much more. Great place to start.
Web Resources for NC Educators
This site is maintained by the Educational Technology Programs Division
of NC Department of Public Instruction.
SouthEast and Islands Regional Technology
in Education Consortium
Great site with links to info on grants, professional development,
classroom resources, evaluation, hardware/software, and more.
The Gateway to Educational Materials
More than 14,000 lesson ideas & learning resources from over 200
organizations can now be found through the Gateway to Educational Materials
(GEM). Teachers & others can type a topic, grade level, &
other information into the GEM search, which then pinpoints -- among thousands
of learning resources across these organizations' websites -- those that
meet those criteria.
PBS Teacher Source
Site maintained by PBS and it has many sources of educational sites,
lesson plans, and connections with other educational opportunities.

Federal web site with lots of statistical information about schools,
students, achievement, etc.

This site calls itself the portal to the world of knowledge.
It has a search engine for finding educational resources and many good
links in several categories.
Learner Online
The Annenberg/CPB Projects. This site includes information about
several educational videos. You can preview clips of the videos for
several subject areas.
The Math Forum
This site has dozens links for the math teacher.
HomeWork Central
You will be able to find almost anything you need from this site.
Students can find information on almost any topic. Sites have been
screened. Even college students can find information for doing assignments.
Teachers can find many valuable resources, including lesson plans, curriculum
and classroom design ideas, and many other resources.
Ask
An Expert Page
You can find email links to experts in many different fields.
You or your students can email experts and get information back to use
in reports. You also get links to articles on these subjects so you
and your students can do research on your own. There are also links
to other internet sites with experts available.
US Department of Education
Find out what our federal government is up to. This site also
has links to research and statistics, news, programs and services, publications,
government initiatives and more.

This is a very comprehensive site with many links for resources and
lesson plans for teachers.
Awesome Library
You can get links to many types of sites on education, including lesson
plans for specific subject areas, integrating technology, and more.
Teachers@Work
You will find over 1000 of some of the best educational sites in the
country, at least that's what they say at this site. There are many
great sites here. You can search for educational sites by categories
and find most of what you need. Try this one!
