Should You Major or Minor in Economics?

Maybe. UNCA has many majors and each has its own special rewards and challenges, short and long term. Perhaps the best advice that one can give is to look carefully at the UNCA Catalog, browse the departmental web pages, visit the Career Center, investigate salaries by major and occupation (note that this data is dated, but probably still good for comparison purposes), explore what the Princeton Review has to say, consider Dr. Bell's views as expressed in a letter to editor of the Blue Banner, and take courses in a number of different disciplines before deciding on a major. Having done that, ask yourself "What am I trying to do?" and "What are my alternatives?" It may well be that economics is the answer to your questions. If it is, we would welcome the opportunity to work with you!
