Online News Sources
Here are a few of our favorite online news sources:
The Wall Street Journal:
Daily
newspaper (except weekends) published for a national audience. Very widely
read in the business, academic and governmental communities. See me for
information on discount
hardcopy subscriptions; old issues
are free for the taking in the lobby outside Dr. Bell's office.
The Economist: Weekly
newsmagazine published in the United Kingdom for an international audience. Focus is on international
politics (with a special section each week on U.S. politics), finance and economics, science and technology, books
and arts. Extremely well written in an irreverent style all its own.

Economist's Archive of "Economics Focus" Articles Read
these articles, ask me questions about anything you don't understand, and you
will learn more about economics than ten professors could ever teach you.
The New York Times: Daily
newspaper published in New York City. Though its focus is on the news in
general, not economics, its articles on subjects to economics majors are
generally outstanding. Discount
hardcopy subscriptions are available through the UNCA bookstore.
High Country News:
Bi-weekly newspaper published in Paonia, CO whose focus is on
resource issues in the western U.S. A great source of well written articles of
interest to students interested in environmental and resource economics.
