Professors Joe and Dot Sulock present their daughter Rebecca with her UNCA diploma.
|
Professor of Economics. Dr. Sulock received his
B.S. from St. Joseph's University in Philadelphia and his Ph.D. from the
University of Virginia. His research interests include economic education, real
estate and the political manipulation of the economy. He has been a consultant
to individuals, businesses and government. His research has appeared in a number
of journals including Public Finance Quarterly and the Review
of Education and Economics. A recipient of a National Science Foundation
grant, his most recent work, Cases in Finance, is published by John
Wiley as part of its Series in Finance. Dr. Sulock is a member of Grace Covenant
Presbyterian Church and the Association of Christian Economists. He strongly
believes that the collegiate experience extends beyond the classroom into the
community, and he is an advisor to two student groups involved in local service,
the Mud 500 Club and Hands Across Asheville. In addition, he is faculty advisor
to ODE -- the economics honorary society. If you have at least 15 hours of
economics credit and an economics GPA of 3.2 or above, you should see Dr. Sulock
for more information on becoming a member of this nationally recognized society.
An aging rocker, Dr. Sulock's hobbies include listening to 60's music. He also
enjoys hiking and golf (though he dislike's sand traps!). Dr. Sulock teaches a
variety of courses including public finance, the first and second managerial
finance courses, the senior research seminar and an exotic (but practical)
subject called econometrics. His favorite course, through, is introductory
microeconomics. Dr. Sulock is the Economics Club advisor. He urges you to join
the club and participate in its entertaining and informative projects.
