"Whether exploding into vocalese or making
her bass solo sound like a horn, Esperanza’s a spark plug
who dances as she grooves through a funked-up and rocked-out
repertoire."

If "esperanza" is the Spanish word for hope,
then bassist, vocalist and composer Esperanza Spalding could
not have been given a more fitting name. The youngest
faculty member ever hired by Berklee College of Music is
making waves all over the jazz world. Blessed with uncanny
chops and a multi-lingual voice that is part angel and part
siren, this 25-year-old prodigy-turned-pro is an
irresistible performer who has been called "the future of
jazz and instrumental music." A jazz experience not to be
missed!
